As the school year draws to a close and prom time comes near, many schools in the area host a "Mock DWI" crash, to show the tragedies of drunk or impaired driving. Ridge Culver firefighters participated at Bishop Kearney High School this afternoon, demonstrating an auto extrication, complete with "injured" and "deceased" occupants.

The program starts inside the school hosted by the Irondequoit Police Department, reviewing the consequences of drunk or impaired driving. The students will then go outside to a bleacher area to witness the crash scene. Fire , Police and EMS will then proceed into to scene and perform their respective duties (auto extrication, drunk driver arrest, patient transport). After the live demonstration outside, the students return inside for the conclusion of the program.
