It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of past Chief, Robert "Bob" Metcalfe.

Bob was a life long resident of Irondequoit and a United States Army Veteran who served from 1963-1965.

A little bit out Bob's lengthy Ridge Culver history:
Bob served as an active Ridge Culver fireman from 1965-1991. He served as Chief from 1983-1987, following his father Oscar Metcalfe's lead who served as Chief of Ridge Culver from 1937-1971. Bob's Son, Shane continues the family legacy here at RIdge Culver which he currently serves as our career Lieutenant in charge of training. Right up until Bob's passing he loved to be up to date with the happenings here at Ridge Culver. Bob loved Ridge Culver and everything it stands for and what it has provided for three generations of his family. Bob was a 58 year member of our organization.

Rest in Peace Chief Metcalfe

Bob was my first Fire Chief at RCFD. We are all better firefighters and better people because of him. Rest in peace brother!
