Swearing-In and Awards Ceremony

On Thursday (12/6) night, Ridge Culver held a Swearing-In Ceremony for newly-hired Firefighter Matt Aman, and newly-promoted Fire Lieutenant Martin Finewood. Following the swearing-in of the new staff, 2 volunteer members, Colin and Jared Streb, were recognized for recently completing the New York State Firefighter 1 program at Monroe County's Public Safety Training Facility. Following that, 11 commendations were presented to various individuals for their unified teamwork at high-level incidents throughout the last 2 years.

A Campaign Award was presented to Lt. Logan Muster for his service with the MCSOU team for a man trapped under a lawn mower over a cliff.
Distinguished Service Class 2 Awards were presented to Capt. Mark Thomas, FF Ryan Kohlmeier and FF Rob Sabin for the same incident.

A Distinguished Service Class 2 Award was presented to (then) Assistant Chief Scott Zampatori (Past Chief) for his efforts related to the March 2017 wind storm.

Firefighter of the Year was presented to Jayson Boehl for many years of leadership and excellence.

A Unit Citation was presented to Lt. Aaron Biscaro, Lt. Logan Muster, FF Ralph Rizzo, FF Brian Lamendola, FF Ian Palmer and Chief Sessler for their efforts in freeing a man who was trapped under a fallen section of concrete wall.

A Unit Citation was presented to A-Lt. Jayson Boehl, FF Jon Champion and FF Jeff Serenati for assisting a resident from escaping an apartment fire.

EMS Life Saving Awards were presented to Asst. Chief Rich Loce, Capt. Mark Thomas, Lt Martin Finewood, A-Lt. Jim Caracci, FF Rob Sabin, FF Andy Beyea, FF Mike Krygier, FF Steve Sudore, FF Ryan Kohlmeier, FF Matt Aman, FF Ralph Rizzo, A-Lt Boehl, FF Jeff Serenati and FF Brian Lamendola for 6 separate incidents involving CPR saves!

Additionally, 911 Operator TCC Sue Filetti, Irondequoit Ambulance Deputy Chief Vicki Saporito, Paramedic Steve Coffee, and EMT Chloe Cashman-Rolls, Civilains Barry Cruttenden and Terry Malone were presented with a Life Saving Award for their successful resuscitation using CPR, Defibrillation, Advance Cardiac Life Support and transport to the hospital, which led to the successful recovery of patient who had stopped breathing following a heart attack.

Congratulations to all the awards recipients! They really do represent the mission to Prevent, Prepare and Protect.
