| RCFD recently switched to a "Company style passport" helmet shield system. Previously each firefighter has been assigned a helmet front which displayed their name and badge number. In an effort to build on company pride and reinforce accountability, RCFD has switched to this company system. Each member assigned to their respective apparatus receives a passport denoting their company and their assignment. Attached are some photos of the new style shields.
"It's more than a helmet shield...it reinforces the "we" and eliminates the "me". We can't preach teamwork with a system of individuality.
