No Caption Busy weekend for Irondequoit Fire Departments

Over the weekend Ridge Culver along with multiple other agencies in the first battalion responded to two different fires in the Laurelton Fire District.

The first was an afternoon fire on Saturday in the 500 block on Helendale rd. All occupants were able to make it out safely and two dogs were rescued as well.

An outdoor burn ban is currently in effect for agricultural burns until mid May. This does not include recreational fires, however they must meet our towns guidelines. The burning of brush and tree debris is always prohibited in the town of Irondequoit. ... (Full Story & Photos)

Over the last few years we have partnered up with the American Red Cross in providing free smoke detectors to residents of our district. Smoke detectors usually have a life span of 8-10 years before they need to be replaced. If you are in need of a new smoke detector feel free to reach out to us at 467-4241 or the Red Cross at 241-4390.

It's that time of year again to spring forward. This is also the time to replace your Smoke/CO alarm batteries to ensure they will be working in the event of an emergency. If you have a newer detector that has a 10 year Ionization battery be sure to test the alarm!
