2021 Live Fire training wraps up

Career Firefighter Jeff Serenati, November 12

Each year our members are required to participate in "Live Fire Training" as a part to maintain their active status. This training simulates a structure fire with multiple companies responding and working together through different scenarios. Ridge Culver along with other Irondequoit Fire Departments usually conduct this training in the fall, and for 2021 it is now complete.

Last month Ridge Culver was excited to host the class: "Live Fire Instructor: Fixed Facility".

This three day class, which was presented by the International Society of Fire Service Instructors, was a mixture of online, in class and practical learning and evaluations. Recruit firefighters Koenig and Seyfi, along with other town and county recruit firefighters are halfway through their fire academy.

Ridge Culver, along with other agencies regularly provide apparatus as well as manpower to assist with these classes.
