Training on new engine begins

The on duty crews began their training today on Ridge Culver's new Pierce Enforcer engine. Factory rep was in the firehouse providing training and an overview of features of the new truck. This afternoon, the on duty crew took the new truck out for some pump familiarization.

Irondequoit Fire Departments work together in Live Fire Evolutions

Last Thursday Night, members from the Ridge Culver, St. Paul Boulevard and Laurelton Fire Department's trained together for "Live Fire" evolutions at the Pt. Pleasant Fire Department's training grounds. Members culminated a number of training sessions that occurred throughout the summer with this night of evolutions.

Recently RCFD Firefighters conducted training in the Gates Fire District. Gates FD was gracious enough to allow us to utilize a vacant property they currently have access to at 911 Brooks Avenue, the site of a former hotel. Members trained on hose line advancement, forcible entry and targeted searches for victims of fire.
